Sponsor a Child

You can make a “star shine” by sponsoring a child.

We are supported by many organizations and individuals through monetary donations, items donated for fundraising purposes, office supplies, and/or volunteering. The saying, “It takes a village to raise a child” rings true in our case. We recognize these efforts regularly on our Facebook page, through individual emails and letters, and in person. We appreciate everyone’s support. WE ARE BLESSED!

If you would like to become part of our legacy in helping children read, print out a Sponsor a Child Enrollment Card – We are the Children’s Dyslexia Center – Southern Illinois #092.

We also accept PayPal and Venmo. Click on the “Donate” button for PayPal or scan our QR with your cellular device for Venmo!

Every child is a “Star”…

Within every child beats the heart of a superhero. When equipped with the proper tools, he or she could grow up to be the President, find the cure for cancer, or end world hunger – the next generation of real life superheros. Yet, a learning disorder like dyslexia can rob children of their chance to soar.

CHILD-SUPERHEROConsider Charlie – an energetic child who had hit an academic wall when he couldn’t learn to read and write like his peers.

As his mother recalls, “Each day brought more upsets and frustration to the point where he didn’t want to go to school. The teacher said he wasn’t trying hard enough, but we knew differently. Who could help us teach our child before he completely gave up trying?”

Through independent research, Charlie’s parents discovered that he was one of the nearly 20% of our population battling dyslexia, the most common reading disorder and one that threatens to deprive sufferers of a normal childhood and family life.

Dyslexia is not curable – but it can be overcome successfully. This miracle is happening daily at the Children’s Dyslexia Centers. It costs $5,000 to tutor a child for one year at these centers – but the results are priceless. Students see their reading and spelling skills improve; and, more importantly, their attitudes change and their self-esteem grow.

“Charlie started out far below grade level, but now he is reading and writing as well as many of his peers. Through the dedicated staff at the Children’s Dyslexia Center, Charlie has received amazing tools for his journey, and he KNOWS that he can attain victory in his quest to read and write successfully.”

This is a story shared by Eliza, a  young lady with dyslexia.

You can help the Dyslexia Centers accomplish this important work by sponsoring a child.

Since its beginnings in 1994, the Children’s Dyslexia Centers have restored thousands of American school children to peer-level reading capability – one child at a time – and freed them from a life of poor academic performance and low self-esteem.

“Charlie will always struggle with his dyslexia. But because of the help he received through our local Dyslexia Center, he finally feels like the victor.”

The Children’s Dyslexia Centers are changing lives by making reading possible for children in this community. You can help change a life, too.

Join with us as we strive to give children with dyslexia the chance to shine. With your tax-deductible donation of $5,000, you can become a sponsor and help support a child’s tutoring at the Children’s Dyslexia Center – Southern Illinois.
